Eastern European DNS Forum (EE DNS Forum 2020) will be held in Tbilisi on November 18-19 to discuss the issues of internet domains and digital infrastructure development across the region. The annual forum is organized by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and supported by Caucasus Online as the Registry of the .GE Georgia top-level domain.
DNS is one of the basic systems of the Internet that provides connection to websites. The forum scheduled in Tbilisi was aimed at raising awareness about it. Considering the current epidemic conditions, the event will be held in a fully remote format.
The online forum will be opened by the Chairman of the ICANN Supervisory Board, Maarten Bottermann. The forum will also be attended by heads and representatives of Eastern European internet and telecommunication companies, state sector representatives, interested parties and specialists who will share international experience with the participants and talk about the latest challenges and trends of the domain industry.
The goal of the forum:
Finding the best solutions for issues in the DNS industry and the Internet in general. Sharing of local and international experience and trends of the coming years. Relevant topics, distinguished speakers and the opportunity to ask the most critical questions.
This year's program includes the following topics:
● Regional emphasis on internationalization of domain names (IDN) and universal adoption (UA);
● Identifier Technology Performance Indicators (ITHI) and ICANN DNS ecosystem improvement;
● DNS operation and strengthening of security capabilities;
● Business continuity for registrants and regional approach.
Along with Caucasus Online and ICANN, the forum also has gold and silver sponsors.
