On April 2, at the “Stamba” hotel, Caucasus Online, as the Regisry of the .GE zone, held a presentation on DNSSEC within the framework of the development of the domain name industry.
The event aimed to share information and raise awareness about the importance of DNSSEC—a service designed to enhance the security of domain names on the internet.
As part of the presentation, an overview of the post-reform period of the .GE zone was presented, along with the results achieved through international partnerships and recently implemented services.
Special attention was given to DNSSEC technology, which is an extension of the Domain Name System and ensures the reliability of DNS data.
The event was attended by representatives of both government agencies and private sector organizations managing critical digital assets. Invited guests noted that DNSSEC is an important technology that will further enhance the security and reliability of their services.
These topics were further discussed during the panel discussion held at the end of the event, moderated by Mr.Vladimir Svanadze, Managing Partner of the Cybersecurity Academy of Georgia.
During the discussion, Ms.Eka Kubusidze, Head of the Communications, Information, and Modern Technologies Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, spoke about Georgia’s digital governance strategy, strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors on these initiatives.
Mr.Dimitri Gugunava, Head of the Strategic Planning and Analytical Service for Digital Governance and Cybersecurity at the Digital Governance Agency, discussed the importance of access to open public data and ongoing cybersecurity challenges.
Mr.Giorgi Gvasalia, Founder and CEO of Deteqt AI, reviewed innovative AI-based services and modern security mechanisms.
As noted at the event, the Registry of the .GE zone plans to continue working on the raising awareness of its importance of DNSSEC service and thus will contribute to make Georgia’s digital ecosystem even more secure and trustworthy.
